Our Mission

Girl+God exists to ensure that no woman on earth has to navigate spiritual transition alone.

We provide community, healing resources, crisis support, education, and advocacy for women who are leaving, questioning, deconstructing, reconstructing, or reimagining their relationship with faith and the divine.

We believe that the spiritual displacement of women is a global crisis that intersects with mental health, gender equity, and human rights.

We believe that every woman deserves a spiritual home that does not require her silence, her smallness, or her compliance. We believe that just having a relationship with God is not enough. Women deserve a relationship with the divine that makes them bigger, not smaller.

We are faith-inclusive. We serve women of every religious tradition and of no tradition. We are not here to tell you what to believe. We are here to hold you while you figure it out.

Our Values

Honesty over performance. We would rather be real than impressive. This is a space where doubt is welcome, questions are sacred, and nobody has to pretend.

Healing over theology. We are not interested in being right. We are interested in being well. Doctrine divides. Healing connects.

Worth is not conditional. You do not have to earn your place in this community or in the presence of the divine. You belong because you exist. Full stop.

The whole woman matters. Spiritual health is not separate from mental health, financial health, or physical health. We care about all of you. Not just the parts that show up on Sunday.

Global by design. This crisis has no borders. Neither does our work. We are building for women in every country, every culture, and every faith tradition.

Girl+God is building:

Community. A global network of women supporting each other through spiritual transition. Online and eventually in person. Held with care. Grounded in honesty. Open to every tradition and no tradition at all.

Crisis Support. A peer support network for women in acute spiritual crisis. The woman who just got disowned for leaving her faith. The woman who lost her entire community overnight. The woman who doesn't know who she is outside of the religion that raised her. She will have somewhere to turn.

Healing. Retreats, group experiences, and clinical programming for women recovering from religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and the grief of losing their faith. Designed by practitioners. Funded by donations. Accessible on a sliding scale so that every woman can heal regardless of income.

The Girl+God Fellowship. An annual fellowship for women scholars, theologians, artists, and activists reimagining the relationship between womanhood and the divine. Fellows produce work that changes the conversation. Girl+God platforms it for the world.

Advocacy. Partnering with human rights organizations to advocate for women's religious freedom globally. Producing research on the impact of religious systems on women's mental health. Bringing this conversation to the institutions and stages that can create systemic change.
